Did you know Bhutan is the only nation that measures progress through happiness rather than economic growth?
While most countries track success using GDP, Bhutan has built its national policy around Gross National Happiness. Fourteen University of Canberra students travelled there to experience this philosophy first-hand, spending four weeks immersed in Bhutanese life, work and culture.
Their journey took them well beyond the classroom, with placements at the Prime Minister's Office, a national referral hospital and a luxury hotel, seminars covering hydropower and entrepreneurship, and a rewarding three-hour hike to the famous Tiger's Nest monastery.
It's a powerful reminder that wellbeing and success can be measured in more ways than one.
